Job Description:

Breakfast attendants have many duties to perform during a shift. Main duties include setting up and breaking down each morning's breakfast buffet, ensuring buffet items such fruits, breads, cereals and bakery items remain well-stocked, maintaining the safety and appearance of the buffet area and cleaning the area in preparation for the next day. This may include replenishing silverware, sugar caddies and condiments, light to moderate food preparation, refilling beverage containers, mopping, wiping and sweeping. The attendant may perform duties similar to those of a restaurant waiter or busboy such as attending to special food orders or needs of the guests, clearing dirty plates from tables, relaying customer needs to the kitchen and providing or refilling drinks.

Job Requirements:

  • Complete all required brand specific training
  • Complete all required Vision University training
  • Complete all required health and safety training
  • Adhere to all Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. and property specific brand standards
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests
  • Provide personalized, friendly service to each and every guest
  • Provide personalized, friendly service to each and every guest.
  • Keep an ongoing inventory of all food items and supplies needed.
  • Order/purchase all supplies necessary to perform job.
  • Prepare food items for service at breakfast according to occupancy.
  • Maintain a constant and complete stock of food and beverage items during breakfast hours.
  • Set up service area each day in accordance to hotel standards.
  • Clear and clean tables as they are vacated during breakfast hours.
  • React instantly and safely to all spills and accidents in breakfast area.
  • Wash all serving equipment and store away each day.
  • Properly return all reusable food items to storage each day.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and evacuation procedures.
  • Keep the pantry and breakfast storage area clean, safe and sanitary.
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform and person.
  • Knowledge of the surrounding city and overall state.
  • Be aware of current events occurring in area and attractions for guests to partake of.
  • Clean lobby and corridors, wipe down tables/chairs, dust fixtures/window sills/baseboards, empty trash and mop/vacuum.
  • Thoroughly clean public bathrooms each day or as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pool area.
  • Complete any special tasks assigned by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
  • Complete knowledge of the layout of the property.
  • Complete knowledge of all hotel policies, services and amenities.
  • Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
  • Must be able to:  
    • work a minimum of 3 shifts per week
    • work weekends and holidays 
    • perform the physical requirements for the position you are applying for, including but not limited to working in various temperatures IE: hot, cold and room temperature environments. walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, speaking (in a professional, respectful and friendly fashion) and listen

Necessary Skills:

  • Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
  • Must be responsible for security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets
  • Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
  • Have dependable transportation available
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing, by telephone and in person
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Is organized, honest, work well with others, and have an outgoing personality
  • Certified in Food Safety and Handling.
  • Successfully complete training of required OSHA programs.
  • Certified in CPR.
  • Have a valid driverís license and dependable transportation available.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Can stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment
  • Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
  • Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to handle heat and stress
  • Have finger dexterity for operating kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
  • Must be able to write
