Banquet Setup

Department: Food & Beverage
Location: Chattanooga, TN

Job Summary: Primary function of the banquet setup person shall include the room Preparation for scheduled functions in the banquet rooms.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. and property specific brand standards.

• Cloths and sets tables, checking for cleanliness of chairs, carpet, linens, and all items on tables.

• Full knowledge of all banquets and meetings held.

• Must be aware at all times of guest’s needs. Being neatly attired in required uniform, nametag and with a professional and congenial attitude.

• Check stations for neatness, cleanliness, proper setup, and backup supplies if needed. Ensure setup is correct for upcoming function to be held.

• Has service ready at least fifteen minutes prior to scheduled time for function to commence.

• Sets room up in its entirety before serves arrive. Maintain cleanliness of the storeroom and all banquet areas, to include cleaning baseboards, polishing brass and dusting light fixture.

• Keeps alert during functions and has knowledge of add-ons and cancellations.

• Keeps service hallway clean and free of materials not belonging there.

• Returns to storeroom and stacks on shelves by corresponding labels. Shakes out and delivers dirty linen to housekeeping.

• Ensures carpets are vacuumed before and after functions.

• Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

• Maintains good customer relations in a courteous and professional manner.

• Must be able to drive company van as needed for delivers, pickups, etc..

Necessary Skills:

• Have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation available.

• Must be able to communicate effectively by writing, telephone and personal meeting situations.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

• Must be organized, honest, and work well with others, and have an outgoing personality.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

• Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment.

• Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.

• Finger dexterity for operating machinery and prep work, as well as, writing.

• Must speak in a clear, understandable voice and hear at a basic level, and understand English.

• Must be able to handle heat and stress.

• Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder.

• Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours.

• Must be able to drive company van as needed for delivers, pickups, etc..
