Breakfast Attendant

Department: Food & Beverage
Location: Chattanooga, TN

Job Summary: Responds to and services guests’ needs and conducts friendly conversation in the interest of selling the hotel. Prepares, serves and cleans breakfast bar daily for hotel guests. Ensures a clean, sanitary and attractive lobby, pool and pantry as well as the hotel corridors and vending areas.


• Provide personalized, friendly service to each and every guest.

• Keep an ongoing inventory of all food items and supplies needed.

• Order/purchase all supplies necessary to perform job.

• Prepare food items for service at breakfast according to occupancy.

• Maintain a constant and complete stock of food and beverage items during breakfast hours.

• Set up service area each day in accordance to hotel standards.

• Clear and clean tables as they are vacated during breakfast hours.

• React instantly and safely to all spills and accidents in breakfast area.

• Wash all serving equipment and store away each day.

• Properly return all reusable food items to storage each day.

• Knowledge of fire alarm and evacuation procedures.

• Keep the pantry and breakfast storage area clean, safe and sanitary.

• Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform and person.

• Knowledge of the surrounding city and overall state.

• Be aware of current events occurring in area and attractions for guests to partake of.

• Clean lobby and corridors, wipe down tables/chairs, dust fixtures/window sills/baseboards, empty trash and mop/vacuum. • Thoroughly clean public bathrooms each day or as needed.

• Maintain a clean and orderly pool area.

• Complete any special tasks assigned by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.

• Complete knowledge of the layout of the property.

• Complete knowledge of all hotel policies, services and amenities.

• Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.

Necessary Skills:

• Certified in Food Safety and Handling.

• Successfully complete training of required OSHA programs.

• Certified in CPR.

• Have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation available.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

• Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment.

• Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.

• Finger dexterity for operating machinery and prep work, as well as, writing.

• Must speak in a clear, understandable voice and hear at a basic level, and understand English.

• Must be able to handle heat and stress.

• Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder.
